Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader and MP from Wayanad, has been disqualified from Lok Sabha after court conviction. Surat Court had yesterday convicted Rahul Gandhi in a defamation case filed by Purnesh Modi. Gandhi had 30 days time to appeal against the Surat Court's verdict in the 'Modi surname' defamation case. Congress party, meanwhile, has decided to hold a nationwide protest calling it an attempt to muzzle free speech and dissent in democracy.
